A child playing with a toy gun caused quite a scene last night, TLS has learned.
At about 9:30 PM, police received a call reporting a person with a gun on Park Avenue, prompting officers to swarm the area, police confirm to TLS.
Upon arrival however, police quickly determined that it was a child playing with an imitation gun‎.
Sources say the officer took away the toy from the child.

He’s lucky he wasn’t shot.
It’s not illegal to carry a toy gun. For shame!!
Lucky this wasn’t Israel the kid would b shot dead!!
Why did they take the toy from him……it’s a TOY!!! this is a sad world we live in today
If the gun had a red tip they had no right to take the gun and the officers can be charged with official misconduct
I would like to think the boy was acting innocent and possibly someone got spooked. If that’s the case the police should have used that as an opportunity for a teaching lesson. I wonder now how that kid feels about the police?
The cops shot that kid in Cleveland running around with a toy gun. Glad it worked out with no one getting hurt. Parents need to use a little common sense with this.
