A child was airlifted to the hospital following an accident in Lakewood this morning, police say.

The single-vehicle accident occurred around 6:30 AM on Route 70, where the vehicle struck a utility pole.

A 6-year-old child was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, police said. The others suffered minor injuries and did not require transport.

Only one lane is open while police investigate and the scene is cleared.
