Chesed of Lakewood Hosting “Recharge!” Supper And Entertainment Event For Those Without Power

[Submitted by Chesed Of Lakewood] Recharge yourselves, recharge your children’s appetites, and recharge your cell phones! There are still thousands of Lakewood residents who do not have power at their houses. The basics we can offer our Lakewood families who are still in the dark are warm meals, working bathrooms, a place to charge their cell phones and devices, and a chance to get out of their dark houses and enjoy themselves.

Therefore, the thousands of Lakewood families who still are suffering without power are invited to take part in a Chesed of Lakewood “Recharge!” event this evening. A delicious fleishig buffet supper catered by Greenwald Caterers will be available for all those who attend free of charge. Childrens’ entertainment will be provided as well.

There will be a tremendous amount of food, drinks, and snacks for the children, with no shortages! Both family and separate seating will be available. The event will take place at Lake Terrace Hall from 4:00 PM until midnight. Any family without power is invited to attend.

Don’t stay home in the cold and dark. If your home is still out of power, please feel welcome to join the “Recharge!” event tonight.

Please call Chesed of Lakewood at 732-901-0482 if you have any questions.

  1. The chessed is absolutely amazing! At this time any family that has not had power since Monday does not even have food defrosting left over!

  2. As of 2:20, some of us in Raintree no longer qualify to go. It was heartwarming to read about this project. I almost regret having my power back.

  3. And then there’s the forgotten pawnee area.
Please, there are real people that live there and I didn’t see one utility truck.
Jcp&l please let me know if you remember about pawnee.

  4. WOw, most thank you for a most beautiful night. Endless supper, entertainment for the kids, music, nosh, box drinks, ENDLESS!!!!!!! THank you to no end!

  5. Unfortunately I was there, WHAT A KIDDISH HASHEM!

I’m so taken aback at the generosity and selflessness from all that were there. Starting from the organizers to the sponsors what a bunch of lovely Jews. How about those volunteers, my g-d so devoted, and the people themselves -sandy not withstanding- were at the best behavior humans can be, waiting so patiently, letting others first….
I could go on and on…

It was a sight to see. Its worse the cold freezing house tonight just to witness this great Kiddish Hashem!!!

P.S. The food so taste and the entertainment was great.

Thanks to all that were involved

  6. One of the organizers explaind to me, they set out to serve 500-600 people and close to 6,000 showed up. They had to scramble to get every posible pan of food that was availeble in town, they even had someone run a grill to try to keep up with the demand…
    What a huge Kiddush Hashem!!!

  7. On behalf of my family, a tremendous Yasher Koiach to all organizers and their assistants. LakewoodScoop will do a better job describing the scene, but I needed to share my Hakaras Hatoiv.
