[COMMUNICATED] In an exciting new development, Chesed Connects, a grassroots volunteer organization founded in the 5 Towns with a desire to connect those in need to people who are able to offer assistance, has officially launched its group in the heart of chesed – the remarkable Lakewood Community. What began as an initiative by a Yeshiva student facing challenges in finding chesed opportunities has now blossomed into a flourishing network with over 2500 volunteers making a meaningful impact on communities.
About one year ago, Chesed Connects launched a simple group chat in the 5 Towns to share and organize various chesed opportunities that were in need of volunteers. These opportunities range from Bikur Cholim, to attending Meis mitzvah funerals, delivering food packages to those in need, packing supplies for Israel, and offering rides to medical patients. Within the last year our volunteers have fulfilled over 500 different chasadim!
As a confirmation to its success, Chesed Connects is now taking its mission beyond the 5 Towns, with the recent expansion into Lakewood, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Great Neck, Manhattan, Bergen County, & Passaic. This expansion aligns with the organization’s vision to create a widespread network of volunteers, transforming isolated acts of chesed into a global chesed movement.
As Chesed Connects extends its reach, the organization invites the Lakewood community to join the movement. For those interested in volunteering, please join our Whastapp or GroupMe groups.
