(Photo of Howell checkpoint) The Lakewood Scoop is getting reports about a checkpoint at the Lakewood-Howell border (right before Valero gas station). The checkpoint, was set up by the Howell Police Department. There is a cop standing on the road checking each and every car’s registration and looking out for seat belt and handheld cellphone violators. If your car registration is not up to date, you can get your car towed.
