A Lakewood resident staying at a rental home in Florida could not understand why he was hearing chirping all night.
The next morning, he contacted the property manager about this unusual sound cough, which sounded as if there was a bird inside his wall.
The property manager came down and acknowledged that indeed it did sound like there was a bird, or birds, inside his wall.
He got his tools and cut open the sheetrock of the wall dividing the kitchen and living room, and discovered multiple ducklings.
”We honestly have no idea how, but somehow a nest was built between the two floors of the home, and the duckling must’ve fallen down to the first floor upon hatching,” the property owner told TLS.
The ducklings appeared to be in good health, and were given food and water before being given over to someone who could care for them.
Apologizing for the inconvenience, the property owner offered the guest a free night stay at any of his properties.
Prior to finding the rental home in Florida, the Lakewood resident asked a friend of his who lived in Florida how he could find a rental home in the Sunshine State. The Florida friend replied to him in a cryptic manner:
“.ודוק ותשכח, אל תקרי ודוק אלא ודק”
“With a קמץ under the ד,” the friend added.
It wasn’t until the sheetrock of the wall was cut open that the Lakewood resident understood his friend’s cryptic message.
