Chavrei Hakollel: Founders Dinner For The Robert W. Singer Vocational Institute

Chavrei Hakollel 1_wm(Photo of new Kollel building-MOFOTO) This past Monday night there was a momentous occasion at the home of Shmuel Zev Brown ESQ. With the attendance were many of our baal habatim and politicians, the Mayor announced the establishment of the Robert W. Singer Vocational Institute. This Vocational Institute will provide training in many areas of trade, and will be available to the community at large and in particular to its teenage population. The Mayor spoke about the growth of our community, and the need to provide alternative educational options for its teenagers. “I believe that every teen has a chance to succeed when given the necessary educational options geared to his specific needs”, said the mayor.

Come show your support for Chavrei Hakollel/Teen Center November 22 at Lake Terrace at their annual dinner, as they honor the Mayor for his vision in creating the Robert W. Singer Vocational Institute.

  1. Comment has been deleted. Please note: There are thousands reading these comments and not just the ‘coffee room’ people. Thank you for understanding.

  2. The real Gedolim were asked about this Kibbud and gave the green light. I guess the Bais Eliyahu now Conservative Gedolim don’t agree. Well aint that tooooo bad.

  3. to TLS

Are you saying that legitimate ,nicely worded comments stating in a very eidele way ,what Most Rabbonim feel ,are not to be made on this site because some people might not feel comfortable with the opinion of most Rabbonim ?

  4. I take a little offense . I am not a coffe room person .I am a hard working individual and my comment was based on advice and hadrocha on this specific case from several very choshuve Anoshim Gedolim . The comment was not written to hurt anybody . It was written to wake up people to our numbness and complacency about the destruction of secular American Jewry and how we are aiding it by our complacency . I guess this blog is not the proper forum to share those feelings of hurt and despair on such a painful subject

  5. It’s pretty amazing how much this program does for kids-at-risk! I’m thinking of becoming at risk so I can utilize this wonderful place. Maybe if we didn’t give them so much public attention, kids would’t wan’t to join these crowds. CLOSE JII ON SATURDAY NIGHTS. Where our young bocherim & maidelech go to meet up with all the dregs of our society. To score some drugs and such.

  6. Tls Its interesting that hundreds of comments on all topics that cause a major chilul hashem in tyhe eyes of the thousands of readers ,yehudim and eino yehudim ,seem to be no problem . But comments that are written berimiza which deal with serious issues ,are deleted ,because they might offend somebody who has no right to be offended .

  7. Hopefully this will keep our boys from going off the derech or intermarrying or ending up on drugs or drunk driving or becoming thieves and criminals.
Thank you senator singer for all you are doing. help and chavrei hakollel for doing your best.

  8. If you close jII on saturday night where will I get my motzei shabbos pizza. Most of the children in front of JII went through schools where they were misunderstood and cast aside. Treated like they don’t exist. It would be better if we closed down those schools or fired the menahalim. It would be no loss, they don’t serve the best pizza that my family enjoys every motzoei shabbos.
    Louie is a tzaddik.
We need to clone him and make an army of louie rebbeim.
He is part of the solution to the problem you kvetches helped create.
And to those that have taynos on chavrei for needing to do certain things. If the town supported ghoori and co more.they wouldn’t need to rely on township committeemen at all.

  9. Thanks to this Mosad for their great work and thanks to all the people who are being honored . The Honorees are great Role Models for the kids. Chazak Veamatz

  10. a special thanks to Senator Singer and the others for stepping up and being such Role models for these kids . it is important for them to have such people like yourselves for them to look up to and emulate

  11. What did these kids do before J2 existed – they went to places that couln’t be mentioned here and now at least they are in our community being occupied.

Be happy they are here smile at them and say a kind word instead of being so judgemental and next time you look at that “bochur” or maidel in HS just think that maybe they are also being pulled to places. Everyone needs chizuk. Don’t be judgemental – be warm and caring.

    Every institution serves its purpose.
