The Inspection Department – one of the many facilities in the Downtown area which lost power in Sandy, got power back today – thanks to Lakewood Chaveirim.
With no time frame goven for power to be restored to the Township Department, Chaveirim members used the large OEM Light Tower gererator to fed electric to the main electric panel. The Inspection Department is now back up and running.
As for the rest of the businesses on Clifton Avenue still without power, a Township official tells TLS there was more serious issue found with underground wires, and at this point there is no estimated time for restoration.
Why did it took over a week to find the issue???
i need lights plssss
Did the electrical work pass inspection?!?
Simple, because there were many other downed lines that could have been the cause. Now that those are corrected you move to less obvious more ominous causes.
I think chavirim should take over jcpl and we will have power back in no time!
Chaveirim rocks!!
I dont mean to sound bitter but are these certified electricians? hooking up generators to a main panel is a serious task and can result in injury or death if done incorrectly
Way to go powerhouse electric!
Were all the necessary permits and inspections taken out? Did they pass ? LOL those guys are great
why was chaveirim busy hooking up the twp inspection office b4 local home’s & business who cares if their closed 4 a few more days is this were our fundraised money is going????

Chaveirim volunteers do not get paid!
What does “fundraised money” have to do with anything ??
Do you think that (your) measely donation should tie a volunteer to be restricted in how he wants to spend his time?????
that work can only be done by a liscenced Electrician !!!!!!!!!!!!
fyi – this was done by a licensed electrician and did not cost you any of your “fund – raised money”
wow , so our donations are measely ? does that mean you dont approcoate them or want them ant more ? we can give our measely donations to lcsw or hatzhola
Just an FYI they had nothing to do with this a licensed electrician with the help of 2 good Samaritans did the work only after 8 days of no heat and power they are still without heat as well…. While township did not even care to check on them or try to resolve the problem with a generator.
most houses are still without power but gosh-forbid a developer cant pick up his permits..
Your dibatiobs to pay fir some supplies does not mean that each volynteer becomes your slave for 24 hours a day . If thet want to takee out 15 minutes of their time to help hundreds of people and schools and shuls that could not submit permits for renovations or continue building Then they can di so without your permission
who wouldnt mind the imnspection dept closed for a while 🙂
Groiser shkoach to yanky s. from chavairim!!

Chaveirim members used the large OEM Light Tower generator to fed electric to the main electric pane, not Chaveirims generator.
Chaveirim has numerous licensed and bonded electricians on their staff.
