Just hours after Chaplain Menashe Miller took off for Iraq, Chaplain Captain Raphael Berdugo left for Afghanistan. Raphael Berdugo, a Chaplain in the U.S. Air Force, will be spending the next three weeks in the city of Kandahar, Afghanistan in order to be with Jewish Troops over the Yom Tov of Chanukah.
Berdugo, is currently on the flight, which left last night from Baltimore Washington International Airport, the same airport Chaplain Miller departed from.
Chaplain Berdugo spent this past Pesach with Jewish Troops in Afghanistan as well, as reported here on TLS. (See exclusive video of the Seder in Afghanistan).
