if you never been in camp simcha- you have to visit. i was invlovled in the rebuilding of camp simcha. i never was there with the kids. but you will be amazed at what they have developed as a little disney land for these special neshamas,.
Cmap simcha/chai lifeline selfless staff and their unparallel dedication is amazing.
the songs called wavin flags
no better place in the world than time square ,to make such a monumentous kiddish hashem. Awsome!
I’m curious. I’m not saying that it wasn’t but why is this considered a kiddush Hashem?
because it displays to the world the amazing work that chai lifeline does, which in turn, sheds a very positive light on hashems chosen nation.
How it displaying this amazing work? All I see is a choreographed dance number of a popular song. It’s very entertaining to watch but I don’t see Hashem’s Name being mikadesh. Using a “secular” song doesn’t help the whole kedusha aspect either.
The head counselor started the music, and what followed is something which can not be described. The entire camp was dancing with such simcha, excitement, and spunk, that the entire Times Square stopped and stared in disbelief – as hundreds of Yarmulka-wearing people made a tremendous Kiddush Hashem!
Thousands of New Yorkers, and tourists all gathered around and watched these courageous and brave children put on a show with their counselors cheering and encouraging them on.
if that aint a kiddish hashem my holy brother, than what is?
makeing something secular into something jewish is beautiful. Are u familiar wit the concept o sanctifying the mundane? from what ive heard ,its an essential part of yiddishkeit .
You saying that it’s a kiddush Hashem doesn’t make it so. I’m glad they had a good time and the pedestrians enjoyed a pleasant show, but that’s not the definition of a Kiddush Hashem.
After all the bad publicity we got with nototious court cases especially Madoff whom the media did not stop portraying as the “JEW” this is what the nation though about when they thought of JEW. Cold, arrogant, thiefs, liars and whatnots.
What did you expect the kids to sing that night “VEYAIDI???” of course this was a kiddush hashem – people walked away from there talking “wow! did you see this amazing Jewish Camp – and all dedicated to kids with cancer” Wow, look how many staff volunteers these kids have” or “I have never seen such joy and delight on the faces of kids with cancer they must be doing something right”
If that isnot a kiddush hashem then what is?
MI KEAMCHA YISRAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t get me wrong, all the volunteers are doing tremendous chesed and they are getting many mitzvos. Why would passer-bys know that they are volunteers?
Your justification for antisemitism is odd. In addition, exposing the volunteers to Times Square in 80-90 degree weather, with obvious tznios issues, would seem to be counter-productive to glorifying Hashem’s Name.
thank gd ur not my spiritua guide.
why do we have to parade and make noise in front of the goyim the less they see us or no about us or talk about us the better we are still in golus
Everyone is missing the point! stop trying to be all frummy and say”oy yiddin in the middle of time square, oy Treif” these kids have CANCER let them perform birabim that is what they want and enjoy! the best cure is to show them how they matter and are part of society. If R Scholar thaught this would be the way to make a kiddush hashem and make the kids feel good, then no one has the right to talk! he has been in this feild for soo long and has dedicated his life to this, he knows what hes doing. People loke Mrs Boro Parker are the reason kids and teens get turned off and go off the derech. Besides what have you done in your life to help these kids that you have a right to say anything!!!
