With hundreds flocking to test for a possible bone marrow donor match, Chai Lifeline has run out of testing kits in Lakewood and had to bring in a couple hundred available kits from North Jersey, Chai Lifeline tells TLS.
The testing began last night and was to last into tomorrow, but with the 2,500 available kits already used, Chai Lifeline had to send a volunteer to a North Jersey location to ensure there would be enough for those wishing to test this evening.
Due to the shortage, testing will only take place at Bais Rivka Rochel and at Chemed until 9 PM this evening, Chai Lifeline says.
The urgent drive, in conjunction with Gift of Life, is to find a bone marrow match for a severely ill man.
