Chai Lifeline Announces Appointment of Rabbi Yitzchok Zalmen Hager as Director of Achim B’Yachad Lakewood

Chai Lifeline is pleased to announce the appointment of Rabbi Yitzchok Zalmen Hager as the inaugural director of Achim B’Yachad in Lakewood.

Achim B’Yachad, led by R’ Hershey Katz, is Chai Lifeline’s division serving the Chassidish communities of Brooklyn, Monsey, New Square, Monroe, Lakewood, Staten Island, and beyond. Its Yiddish-speaking professionals and volunteers provide culturally sensitive social and emotional support to families in hospitals and communities, as well as Shabbatons and year-round programs and events designed to meet the needs of the Chassidish and heimish communities.

“We are excited to welcome Rabbi Hager to the Chai Lifeline-Achim B’Yachad family,” said Hershey Katz. “Rabbi Hager is a respected askan in Lakewood and understands the needs of our families. I look forward to working with him to strengthen and grow our support in the community.”

Rabbi Hager currently serves as a rebbi in Talmud Torah Darchei Avoseinu in Lakewood.

“Chai Lifeline is committed to supporting our families in the most impactful and effective way possible,” said Rabbi Sruli Fried, director of Chai Lifeline NJ/PA. “As the Chassidish population in Lakewood grows, it’s vital that we continue to invest in Achim B’Yachad’s local presence so that we can best serve our families. We are delighted to have Rabbi Hager lead this important effort in our community.”
