Water pumped into the road left Lawrence Avenue in Lakewood a sheet of ice this evening.
The low water table in the area reportedly gassed floording, forcing residents to pump out the water into the street drain, but the water froze before it could reach the drain.
“LPD is telling homeowners pumping water to stop and redirect it to their own backyards,” Mayor Ray Coles tells TLS.
Police and Chaveirim have blocked off the road and salting it, after multiple vehicles got stuck. Public Works is also sending salt trucks.
Avoid the area.
