The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory, which will last through the night.
Visibility will drop to about one-quarter mile or less at times, the NWS says.
The dense fog is causing very dangerous driving conditions, and is posing extreme dangers to pedestrians as well.
“I can hardly see a few feet in front of me,” a driver in Lakewood wrote to TLS.
Other drivers contacted TLS in an effort to urge pedestrians to avoid walking in the streets during this fog.
The fog is also expected to affect the morning commute. The advisory remains in effect until 10 AM.
