The take-down of an armed man in Lakewood was caught on video today.
At approximately 4 PM today, Lakewood police officers received a tip from a caller regarding a man who was approaching bystanders while carrying several guns at the Self Service Car Wash located on the corner of Ocean Ave. and Park Ave, according to Lakewood Police Chief Gregory Meyer.
The man, who had the guns tucked into his waistband, offered to sell them to bystanders, which prompted the call to police.
Chief Meyer said that Sergeant Messer and Officers Burkhardt and Zavalnyuk responded and approached the suspect, based on the description given by the caller. The suspect became noncompliant and evasive with the police officers, which prompted them to use immediate and necessary force to subdue him.
Chief Meyer said the three firearms were recovered from the suspect, who was then transported to Monmouth University Medical Center for treatment from injuries sustained during the takedown. No police officers were injured during the incident.
The suspect has been identified as Arturo Cuahutle-Flores, 47, of Lakewood, and has been charged with 4 counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and 4 counts of unlawful possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. There are more charges pending, and the investigation is still ongoing.

I just want to point out that if you are ever near such a situation DON”T take out your phone to take a video! GET OUT OF THERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN! The bullets can start flying very quickly.
Any public institution without at minimum a combination lock to gain entry is acting callously r’l.
Skanta is chamira m’isorah
Tym Zavalnyuk for President!
Thank you LPD for taking every call and report seriously and acting upon them. Thank you for patrolling and adding a presence today and every day. May Hashem continue to watch over and protect us all.

HOw long will it take until every school has an armed, physically fit guard at EVERY entry point????
Hope they hand this guy over to ICE as they are required to do and not let him out on bail.
He’s lucky he didn’t get shot because he was reaching in that bag.
THanks to our police department but unfortunately thats not the whole issue. Reminds me of 1938 [Yes I mean 1938 thats not a typing error. ] in Germany and Austria thats actually when our tzores began , Before hitler Yimach shmo attacked Poland and then Russia. Lets hope the government here in the States stops this before it gets Cholile worse, Amein,
The cop gets a 10 out of 10 for tht kick tht dude shld feel tht for a while!
Hope they gave him the right tools to make the pain go away i.e. water, jump up and down, eat bread……..
Luckily just a jerk trying to sell a few firearms. Not even a story worth publishing.
He came to help the community by selling them ammo to protect themselves. Next time maybe he should buy them.
Thank you so much to our wonderful Police Officers.
Great job officers. That kick was perfectly executed! Reminded me of of young Pete Vogel!!
