CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Jeep Overturns After Running Stop Sign in Manchester; Two Airlifted

Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in Manchester Township after a Jeep failed to stop at a stop sign and overturned.

At approximately 8:38 p.m. on July 6, 2025, Manchester Township Police responded to the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Burnside Street following reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, officers found a blue 2021 Jeep Cherokee on its passenger side on the front lawn of a residence in the 1400 block of Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle sustained extensive damage. A gray 2015 Toyota Camry was located in the intersection with significant front-end damage.

An initial investigation revealed that the Jeep, traveling southbound on Burnside Street, failed to stop at the posted stop sign and struck the Camry, which was traveling eastbound on Broadway Boulevard. The impact caused the Jeep to overturn.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as 23-year-old Briana Rodriguez of Brick, NJ. Her passenger, 21-year-old Anthony Fernandez, also of Brick, was riding in the front seat at the time of the crash. Both occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel and were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center via Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health’s LifeFlight medevac helicopter. As of Monday, both are listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota, 38-year-old Jun-Jun Zheng of Toms River, was uninjured.

Emergency response included Manchester Township Emergency Medical Services, volunteer firefighters from the Ridgeway and Manchester Fire Companies, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Toms River EMS, and Priced Rite Towing.

According to police, failure to obey the stop sign by the Jeep’s driver appears to be the primary contributing factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by Ptl. Brendan Brush of the Manchester Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
