A serious accident caused by an alleged drunk driver was caught on surveillance video obtained by TLS.
The accident happened around 11:35 PM Friday night at the intersection of Cross Street and Massachusetts Avenue in Lakewood.
Video shows the alleged drunk driver apparently speeding through the intersection, colliding with another vehicle, which ended up against a tree.
The driver of that vehicle was extricated and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver who caused the accident was not injured, but taken in for blood tests and charged with impaired driving, police told TLS.

I am criticized for slowing down before going through intersections but this is a very good reason why you always look before you cross. It has saved me numerous times.
And drunk drivers should be penalized with the stiffest punishment. In this case, I would say the person should be charged with attempted murder.
Attempted murder would be impossible to prove, but reckless endangerment= 100%.
