Thanks to a quick response by the Lakewood Police Department, a man who broke into a Lakewood shop and stole the cash registers, is in custody – after a brief foot chase.
At about 1:00 AM this morning, Police received an alarm call regarding an attempted burglary at a shop on Clifton Avenue.
But when the burglar was unsuccessful in breaking into the shop, he tried the next one, shattering a glass window with a wheel rim to make entry.
Once inside, the shirtless burglar first stole a shirt off the rack – to conceal his face, and then went for the cash.
But when he couldn’t open the metal registers, he just went for the whole thing – ripping them out of the counters and went for the door.
By that time Police officers arrived and spotted the suspect, and gave chase.
Following a short foot pursuit, the shirtless burglary suspect was in custody and the registers were recovered.

Looks like the kind who would give his shirt off his back…
These burglars are so stupid! Don’t they know there are surveillance cameras everywhere? I hope he gets a stiff sentence.
Was this dreamer shirtless, because his back was still wet?
Good one, Marc.
Thank you LPD
Great job!!!

To all those who comment “where are the cops” on every robbery, now’s your time to say thanks!
