Careful Who You Bring Into Your Home

LCSW car with bar_wmA family sitting at home last night without heat, decided to call in a random ‘Shabbos Goy’ off the street to turn on the system for them. The man turned on the heat and made his way to the door. However, this evening the women called LCSW after realizing that the man had stolen her pocketbook on the way out. The pocketbook was left near the door as Shabbos arrived and by the time they noticed, it was too late. Apparently, the unidentified man decided to tip himself for his services.

  1. Why did you call the lcsw. Why didnt you call the Lakewood police dept. so they could make a report and this dosent happen again.

  2. maven & sweet year, I’m sure the family appreciates your being noseh b’ol im chaveiro in such a thoughtful senitive way. not to be beleived…

  3. Not a posek but its not that simple to bring in a goy to turn on the heat ac light etc. A competent rov should be consulted before doing something like that
If you ask a goy to turn on a light and he was not aloud you may not be nehenah from that light whatsoever ie: you must leave that room for the remainder of shabbos

  4. anonymous and tracht a duch! You are a bunch of cowards! You hide behind screen names to bash other peoples comments. If you have nothing intelligent to say then syag lechochma Shtika!

  5. #1. She said it was too late to put the mukzeh away, so don’t blame her for that.
#2. If she’d make a police report she’d probably get the pocketbook back sans the money, because that’s all these petty thieves want. They usually ditch the pocketbook somewhere and then it gets found and returned (happened to me).
