Car Seat Check event coming to Lakewood for first time

On Sunday, July 9th, 2017 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm the Lakewood community will be able to avail themselves to a potentially lifesaving service organized by the Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch/Lakewood Shomrim in partnership with the Lakewood Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, and Safe Kids International.

For the first time ever in Lakewood, residents will be able to have their infant and toddler’s car seats and booster seats checked by certified Child Restraint Specialists who will guide them on the safety and proper installation and use of these seats. This check event is being held at the Ocean County Park on Route 88, where participants can drive up in their vehicles, have their family go off to enjoy the park’s amenities; while having their check done by a profession. Please note: each vehicle does take approximately half an hour to complete and one driver is required to remain with the vehicle at all times.

The Car Seat Check Event is free and is an effort we should all make to ensure the safety of our precious passengers.
