  1. Bless the school principals for making the right decision again. Education is the basis of our successful future. School years have a time limit. I do not want my children to lose the most valuable opportunity they have at this age. If & when it should become a safety issue, they can choose to have an early dismissal. But every minute of education until that point is paramount!

  2. @ #4, so what your saying is your child’s education is more valuable than their overall safety? Well thank you and to the powers that be for putting MY life in jeopardy just so your child could get their much needed education.

  3. bus drivers safety is more important. i am one and it is very dangerous driving on the snow covered roads, let alone in Lakewood. parents don’t think about us transporting 54 children on our buses in this type of weather.

  4. So this town would rather compromise the safty of there children-bus drivers-and school workers then close the schools or have early dismissel? Unbelievable! I don’t get the logic in this thinking! What will it take something very bad to happen to a bus load of children before u think with your brains? Boe think about safty and use your brains! How many accidents occurred on sunday? One involving a school bus???

  5. Apparently some commentors on here want to have a free day off.

The snow has stopped. Most roads are pretty okay. Driving isn’t that terrible. We just have to drive a bit slower and with some extra caution.

When will the complainers ever learn to stop whining every time some snow falls. Geez! They’re making a mountain out of a molehill..

Education of the children will always remain the Top priority. And when it does become a REAL safety issue, obviously the schools will either close early or close altogether..

  6. If the schools close because of a snow day it isn’t a free day, those days off have to be made up at the end of the year ,so it is not free, safety first. You are still getting your education.

  7. I love the hate that goes down…

look is it soo bad there was school… Schools make their best decision you make yours… you wud u say they don’t care???

ppl grow up and you’ll enjoy life if u quit hating

  8. Bus drivers who don’t like the decisions the “higher ups” are making don’t have to work. They can quit their jobs tomorrow. Unfortunately there are plenty of ppl w/o jobs that will be willing to take over. Theres no entitlement here.
