Burglaries Continue: Safe with Jewelry Stolen During Home Burglary

csi lkwdAuthorities are investigating yet another home burglary that occurred in Lakewood.

Police say they responded to a County Line Road home, where a burglar made forced entry over the weekend when the homeowners were away.

The burglar smashed a rear back door glass panel, and proceeded to ransack the home. The thief then made off with a 2′ x 2′ safe containing approximately $10,000 of jewelry, police said. The safe was not bolted down, police said.

The burglary is one of dozens of burglaries that have occurred in a similar fashion over the past several months, leading authorities to believe they are hunting the same party.

To date, close to $1,500,000 in proceeds were netted during this string of burglaries.

Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and CSI are investigating.

  1. I have noticed that in my own neighborhood many families make it quote obvious when they are not home for Shabbos. Please, use sechel and leave a few lights on around the house so that someone from the outside will hesitate to break in since the home at least looks occupied.
