Yet another Lakewood home was ransacked and burglarized overnight, netting the burglar $35,000 in cash, jewelry and more, police say.
Police say the homeowner came home to find his home ransacked, after entry was apparently made through a rear basement window.
“The house was completely gone through,” police said. Approximately $35,000 in property, jewelry, silver and coins were stolen.
The burglary follows a string of burglaries that occurred over the weekend in Lakewood, some which have similarities to multiple other burglaries that have plagued the town since the Summer.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and CSI are investigating.

It’s time we all protest in front of the Police department to demand answers. They should stop worrying about parked cars petty things for a month .Take all there resources and focus on the the robberies. Maybe for few thousand dollars hire top notch investigators .
Hey #1…instead of being a Monday morning quarterback, take the test, pass the academy, strap on a gun, bulletproof vest and hit the streets. If you can do so much better, prove it punk.
I say we should hire # 2.
if this about house on central ave, it was robbed between 11am and 4pm not over night
Id take #1s commens with a grain of salt #2. The person doesnt even knkw the difference between a burglary and a robbery so I doubt he knows anything about police procedures and exactly how hard a job it is…
This not about Police Bashing. I think LPD do a great job. This is about having the higher ups in the LPD making this a priority for a month. Not giving out parking tickets a month etc.
Keeping people safe is the number one job for law enforcement.
How about a public symposium with a representative of the police force on how to burglar-proof your home?
The people who robbed my house were back on the street within months. If there is any protest, it should be against the justice system.
Robbery- The taking of money or goods in the possession of another, from his or her person or immediate presence, by force or intimidation.
Burglary- The criminal offense of breaking and entering a building illegally for the purpose of committing a crime.
know the difference.
