PHOTO: Burglars appear to be getting more desperate out there. LCSW and the Police received a call yesterday afternoon about a car with a broken window on Lexington Avenue.

Upon arrival, LCSW members discovered a vehicle with it’s driver’s side window busted open. A rock was found in the vehicle, and the owner’s GPS device was gone.

  1. How many times do people have to repeat this: Don’t leave your toys out in plain sight where others might want to play with them.
No wonder our insurance rates are so high………….

  2. same old story every week. if you are foolish enough to leave your ‘goodies’ in plain view, why be surprised when someone steals it ? It’s not like this never happened before. If people haven’t learned by now, they never will.

  3. Mr conservative is a typical liberal. Blame everyone except the criminal. I for one, will always leave my gps in my car. It’s worth taking the risk so I don’t have to take it inside with me where ever I go. If it gets stolen? Nu Nu. The only one who will be upset is Mr conservative.

  4. Actually, Mr G, Mr c is just being practical.
The perpetrator, if caught, unless he/she is a chronic repeater, is going to get a fine, maybe probation, if he promises never to do it again and be right back in your neighborhood. Not right but that’s just the way it is.
You, on the other hand, are going to be stuck with a broken window, missing GPS, the output of both time and money to replace said items, and your time spent with the insurance company to get back a part of your expenditure if you’re lucky.
You may be right, but I’ll hide my stuff from others temptation and still have it!
