Brookhill Boy Is Accepted To Prominent Cheder [Featured Story]

Boy in the Field_wmWe are pleased to inform you that the issue with the Brookhill boy reported here and here on TLS, has been resolved and the boy has been accepted into a prominent Mosad in town.  A big Yasher Koach must be given to noted Askan R’ Yossi Atlas, who worked tirelessly with the Roshei Hayeshivah Shlita to reach this satisfactory resolution.  We hope that nobody will have to be in this situation again in the future.

  1. I am so happy for this boy. This is coming from a parent whos daughter was not excepted into high school.

Now what about all the other boy’s that are still not in school yet.

Erev Yom Kippur and I know of at least one boy who is not yet in school. His parents are well known in town. whom should they have to speak to. They have spoken to the RH and still nothing. They have spoken to many askonim in town, and still nothing.

I am asking everyone over YOM KIPPUR take 1 minute of you davining, and daven for all these boys & GIRLS that have to go through these troubles.

Have an easy fast & a gmar chasima tova. My you ALL be inscribed in the book of LIFE.

  2. What exactly does prominent mean ? The insinuation is that there are prominent and non prominent schools and if you aren’t accepted into the prominent one then itis a problem. I may be readiNg too much into this but he wording is certainly interesting.

  3. amen no resident of Lakewood should ever go through this.Evreyone should have a easy fast and a Gmar Tov all tefilos should be answered and we should not no know of any pain only simchos by klall Yisroel

  4. I wouldn’t want to see the gzar din for the people
Responsibe for keeping tizknos she’ll beis rabon on the
Streets, and all the aggrivation for the families

  5. Unfortunately through out the school systems, the students
From “prominent” families get into the “prominent” schools
But as we see in recent times money comes and goes
But good deserving children will always be, so why
Not give them their deserving place which the earn

    Gmar tov
    Fed up with the systems

  6. As you say should not happen again that is said every year come on people grow up and teach the kids normality and let them learn torah SCOOLS if u really care about kids u would let them in every kid needs a chance

    LET THEM BE KIDS…PLEASE

  7. This is what happens when people in power need to flex their muscles. They need to exclude children & their families, sometimes randomly, in order to make their schools seem more chashuv. As we have seen, power doesn’t last forever, & eventually they will crash & fall.

  8. Can anybody explain to me why people think that it is so great that this kid is in school. I know of another few parents that were forced to move away from lakewood. The hypocrisy in lakewood is unbelievable. What’s unreal to me. Is the fact that u have people that preach torah all day to our kids yet they think that it wasn’t meant for them. For instance ve’ahavta lreacha kamocha ve’ahavtem ess hager etc. These same people who yom kippur stood and begged hashem to judge them favorably, don’t have a hard time to pass judgment on people they don’t even know. The only way things will change here, is if we stop supporting these schools. They will change their tone very fast. God can’t take it when his kids are bitzaar. If you are mitzaar another jew you automatically push off the geula. On what merit are all these school administrators saying leshana haba’a beyirushalayim. What do they expect to happen after they turn away a child for the simple reason that his parents aren’t chashuv enough for his school or yeshiva. The tzaar that these people cause for pathetic reasons is unbearable. I wish somebody with a little influence in the community gets to read this and does something about the situation. Its time to stand up and say to all yidden in our community no more tzaar. No more suffering. We want and need the zchusim of all the potential tora that could be learnt by the kids who are denied. Imagine the zchus a mosad has for the tora learnt by tinokos she’ll bais rabban. Now imagine the zchus they have when they don’t have the money or the place for another kid but somehow manage to push him or her in instead of saying why me. Let somebody else take them. The tora isn’t a convenience. We can’t only do the mitzvohs that come easily. We need to set a new presidence. No child left hanging in the wind till the last second.

  9. Those who are bashing the schools for not accepting – what are they supposed to do when they are so overcrowded?

I’ve said it before but it can’t be said too many times. Who has benefited from the rapid and uncontrolled expansion of Lakewood? If you can tell me who, besides developers, real estate agents…Why should these parties not be held responsible to help open new schools? It is mainly a question of funding – if the funds were there, no doubt capable people could be found to run the schools.
    Why isn’t this happening?

  10. Believe me . Not one of of these bashers ever lifted a finger to help create more new schools . A new class is born every week in Lakewood and there are ehriche tzadikim who are making schools for them ,despite being called power hungry ,”selection ” ( Nazi Style ) and many other nasty names . Then there are lazy people who do nothing to help ,except ceiticize the ones who actually helped .

  11. There are 2 problems . One is funding ,which is 90 % of the problem . Most of our tzedakah money is going to out of town mosdos .

The second problem is that since there is nobody else to blame ,it is the ones who have actually made schools that have become the punching bag for anybody who is looking for somebody to blame and curse out for the lack of space crisis .

I have spoken to people who admitted to me that the only reason they are taking out their frustation on the school,is because there is nobody else visible that can be blamed . So when you kid is a victim of there being a shortage of schools ,the only ones visible enough to be cursed out are the schools themselves , even though they really are the solution not the problem .

  12. i have heard many people questioning your choice of “prominent ” . almost as if the issue is that somebody wanted a more prominent schhol as opposed to just a “regular school

  13. I just want to say a yasher koach to yossi atlas. Not only did he make himself a expensive cell phone bill getting this kid in. He also got me a sweet deal on. My new car. Everyone should use anchor auto lease to help pay his phone bill from this parsha.
