Following a public outcry regarding the lack of railings at the lake’s walking bridge, the township has once again installed the added security, TLS has learned.
DPW Supervisor Tony Arrechi tells TLS the township said they would again be spending the money for the repairs, in addition to the bumpers that were recently installed, as safety remains a priority.
As earlier reported, the railings along the bridge were repaired three times, but were repeatedly destroyed by vandals. The repairs cost the township around $2,000, Arrechi said.
Authorities were made aware of the vandalism, and are expected to increase patrols in the area.

Bridgegate Update
It rhymes!!!
lol
Too funny.
Thanks you
Did they also install security cameras? There should be video cameras that also display at the police station in real time so if they are ever destroyed again, the perps can be caught. Maybe they should be wired to an alarm system connected to the police dept. There ought to be a way to deter those ganovim!
The problem with MOST
They think they hafta POST.
Who cares if it RHYMES
(it doesn’t)
Reading pointless comments
makes me waste my TIMES!
If the area was closed after dark anyone found there could be subject to prosecution. It would be a shame to have to do that, it would be punishing the innocent for the thoughtless acts of a few bad apples, but we can’t keep replacing the railings. Perhaps a neighborhood watch can be set up.
@realiat s/t makes me think ur time is not so valuable
If the town installs cameras it will still take too long for the police to get there and catch the perps.
Being as the perps keep trashing the railings, and the people demand the railings be replaced, perhaps the town should remove the bridge. This would save the replacement cost of the railings and then the people would not be able complain about falling off.
If they installed a canopy like they have by north lake then it would be to strong to be vandalized as well as it will look nice and provide relief for when it rains when walking on shabbas
