Bridge Repairs Prompt 3-month Closure of Farmingdale Road in Jackson Township

A section of Farmingdale Road/Hulses Corner Road will be closed beginning Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., due to ongoing bridge construction, Jackson Township officials announced.

The closure will affect the roadway between River Edge Drive and Fort Plains Road and will remain in effect 24 hours a day. While local residents will be permitted to access their driveways up to the point of the bridge closure, all thru traffic will be prohibited during the construction period.

According to the Jackson Township Police Department, multiple detours will be in place depending on travel direction and destination. Motorists are urged to follow posted detour signage, which has been carefully planned to prevent heavy or commercial traffic from using roads not suited for such vehicles.

Residents traveling on Farmingdale Road from Jackson Mills Road will be able to proceed as far as 1125 Farmingdale Road, just before the bridge closure. Those accessing Hulses Corner Road (Georgia Tavern Road) from Route 9 will be permitted to travel up to 905 Hulses Corner Road.

Officials estimate the closure will last approximately three months, barring weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers are advised to allow additional travel time and remain alert for detour signage throughout the construction zone.

The Jackson Township Police Department thanked residents and motorists for their cooperation and patience, noting that the repairs are essential for improving the safety and condition of the bridge and roadway.
