Brick Woman Sentenced to 5 Years for Theft from Lakewood Employer

ocean county prosecutors offc tlsOcean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato on Friday announced the sentencing of Victoria Geremonte, 43, of Brick, NJ for Second Degree Theft. Geremonte was sentenced by the Honorable Rochelle Gizinzki, J.S.C. to five years in State Prison and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $393,162.80

The sentencing is the result of a guilty plea by Victoria Geremonte for diverting 381 checks payable to her employer, Certified Environmental Contractors, LLC of Lakewood, an oil tank removal company. The diverted checks were deposited over the course of approximately three and a half years, ending in June of 2012, into a bank account titled Certified Environmental Tank Technology which was controlled and owned by Ms. Geremonte.

The case was referred to the Office of the Ocean County Prosecutor after the October 2012 arrest of Geremonte by the Brick Township Police Department. The investigation was conducted by Det. Michael Bevacqua of the Brick Township Police Department and Det. Amanda O’Mara of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. Senior Assistant Prosecutor Martin Anton prosecuted the case. Victoria Geremonte will be immediately turned over to New Jersey State Prison officials to begin serving her sentence. [TLS]
