Brick Township Resident, Former Police Officer, Announces He’s Running for Ocean County Sheriff

Brick Township resident, Justin Delaney, announced his candidacy for Ocean County Sheriff in the 2022 primary election.

Mr. Delaney, a lifelong Ocean County resident will meet with the Ocean County Republican Party Screening committee on February 10 in attempt to gain their support.

Mr. Delaney feels “its time for a change in Ocean County” and that he is the person to get that change started.

Mr. Delaney tells TLS he is a former Ocean County Police Officer and says he has extensive experience in dealing with the front lines of policing in today’s climate. He believes that his experience “will help set the tone of policing in Ocean County for the current times as well as the needs of the future.”

If elected Mr. Delaney would “also cut back on the excessive payroll in the Sheriffs Department. As it currently stands, taxpayers are paying out more than $750,000 a year for the Sheriff and two Undersheriffs who are collecting a 6-figure pension as well as a 6 figure salary.”

Mr. Delaney says he looks forward to “working with the Board of Commissioners and the residents of Ocean County on continuing to make Ocean County not only a great, but a safe place to live.”

  1. Where was he a police officer at? How come he just said in Ocean County? Data universe doesn’t have him in the system as active or a retiree.

    • Maybe you should take a look in the mirror. You’re sitting behind your computer posting under an alias trying to be a big man or woman. Try posting under your real name.

  2. When I google his name, I found he was a 8 year veteran at the rank of Patrolman (Police Officer). He has NO Supervisory or Administrative experience, how does he expect to be an Ocean County Sheriff.

Also what I read shows he has a SERIOUS lack of moral character.

  3. I’ve known him personally for close to 10 years. He’s one of the most upstanding men I’ve ever met. He would make an outstanding Sheriff and make Ocean County proud.

  4. Just want to take a minute and address the negativity here. It’s astonishing that people automatically assume they know someone based upon something from the internet. If you want, you will get the chance to meet me and see who I really am and what I’m really about. I also know some of these comments are coming from people who are trying to make me look bad because they know I know how things are run behind the scenes and will correct how a corrupt system works. I am easily accessible If anyone wants to reach out directly and have a true conversation about my abilities and qualifications.

    Justin

    • “Chaim” you are incorrect my friend. Please reach out to me directly if you’d like to discuss this matter or any others. Or you can continue to try and defame under an alias. Choice is yours on what type of person you want to be.

      • which part is incorrect please explain am i not reading correctly from your guilty plea?

“Defendant is subject to order signed by the court on January 9 2018 relinquishing his right to pursue ANY and ALL future employment in Law Enforcement.”

        Please explain to the public!!

  5. Just a thought Justin.
You are the one who has decided to enter the political arena not anyone else.
People are smart and they research things. When people search your name the first thing is an issue you have or had while you were employed.
If this is a true issue then you should come clean about it now than have it debated on here or through the media.
I don’t know you but will have to vote for someone at some point so I would address it now than before people have to vote, be it at the County Party or some other time.
Kind of fair for you to explain it before it gets to far out of control for you.
Be smart open and forward about it.
