Brick PD To Have One ALPR Equipped Cruiser

ALPR_lakewood_pd_tlsBrick Township police will have one cruiser equipped with a license plate reader. The Township Council recently approved the purchase of the reader, which can read up to one plate per second in certain conditions which can read up to one plate per second in certain conditions. The total cost of the system over the next four years will be $31,005. The system will alert police officers to cars that are potentially being driven by people who have warrants issued for their arrest. Lakewood has one car that records license plates when patrolling areas deemed of critical interest to the Department of Homeland Security, which funded the $30,000 system. APP
