A 35-year-old Brick man was charged in connection to this morning’s bomb threat that prompted theĀ evacuation of hundreds of people, including an elementary school, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith tells TLS.
“Ryan Turek, 35 yrs old of Brick was arrested and charged with 3rd Creating a False Public Alarm at the ARC the Ocean County Employment Center located at 150 Oberlin Avenue,” Staffordsmith says.
Upon arrival at work, an employee discovered the message that was left on the company voicemail “indicating that there was a bomb in the building.”
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Mr. Turek, a participant of the program, for leaving the message, Staffordsmith said.
As earlier reported, hundreds of students from a school next door were evacuated, as well as nearly 200 others from the ARC.
