  1. There’s been too much dumping on the Town. I’ve been here for almost ten years and the snow response is usually pretty good. Granted, this storm was not handled well. But to say that they never do a good job is unfair.

  2. why dont they attach plows to their garbage trucks like in ny .That would increase the amount of plows by a large degree and hopefully help everything get plowed quicker

  3. Kelmwoods in westgate still not plowed. They made it halfway yesterday and then gave up. 26 families still stuck in 2 feet of snow and waiting to get out and most have work tomorrow… We even have a Dr. On the block that needs to get out please help!!

  4. Morris Ave had a private contractor come by. He plowed a strip running down the middle but did not touch an approximately 6-8 feet left over on each side of the street. Please send someone to do the job right!

    This is insane!

  5. For the 18,000 in property tax that I would pay I would like to know what I receive other than garbage pickup once a week…not even receiving bussing for my children!

Mr. Miller, where are the funds going?

  6. Unfortunately they missed a golden opportunity to plow a whole Shabbos .
They had nearly 24 hours with roadways unimpeded by cars .
What is even more amazing is that they had a week of non stop warning of the impeding storm .
For hours and hours I was giving them the benefit of doubt .
It is now Sunday night and even the road that are “cleared”, leave place for only one car to pass and have several inches of snow on the ground.
Thousands of us workers need to get out in the morning . Is this not a high enough priority for someone to worry and plan for, months ago ?

  7. its 50 hours since the snow started & North apple/Orchard ct /Eden ct wasn’t touched i only saw 1 township plow truck today cleaning the municipal parking lot (on 4th & Princeton) but not the streets who will pay all those people that lost money from working tomorrow because they r snowed in or their kids don’t have school tomorrow y cant the township outsource plowing like the state does it is a shame that all the private plows got all their jobs done &township didn’t even get 1/2 of lakewood done

  8. First of all, there was a state of emergency Saturday so no one, including the dpw, should’ve been on the roads. Second, lakewood is not the only town that had problems getting the snow removed in a timely fashion. I supply snow removal and emergency storm equipment to municipalities and equipment and trucks were having trouble breaking down or getting stuck in other towns too. Workers everwhete were not being able to get back to work after the blizzard. Friends, this was a blizzard that killed almost two dozen people, the entire shoreline has more water than hurricane sandy, people are still without power, and you’re worried about school and work on Monday. Are you serious? What kind of example are you setting for your kids. What kind of reality is this youre livng in? You all have power, your homes aren’t flooded out, and you are all alive. Wake up and realize how lucky and blessed we all are. Not everything is about your tax dollars and making money on monday. Yes, there needs to be changes made to be proactive and not reactive. The dpw should be in charge of snow removal not a special group. It’s not rocket science. I posted this comment, because I am disappointed to see so much drama. We all knew the storm was coming and stocked up food and necessities. No one was “trapped”, per say, on our streets. We were all safe in our homes with our families, food, water, heat, television, etc.. My recommendation for those who feel they need immediate access to streets as soon as a snow storm or blizzard is over is to buy a 4 wheel drive vehicle. FYI, my street was plowed Friday night, Saturday night, and three times today and there is still snow stuck to the street. Its called a Blizzard. Love and peace to all.

  9. Can I know why my comments have not been posted??? It borders on rishus. All I asked was why Morris Ave was left with about 6-8 feet of snow on each side of the street with only the middle being plowed. I thought they’d surely come back but it’s Monday morning and still noone!

  10. What a ruse!! WE control the town and the budgets and the hiring and the training and the lack of spending….in a highly untrained and unprofessional way. So, those in charge are blaming those in their charge???? You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cant fool all the people all of the time.
