As first reported on TLS Status, authorities and emergency personnel are on scene of a small aircraft crash in Ocean County this afternoon.
The accident happened around 5:30 PM near Miller Park.
The pilot luckily made it out without injury, officials told TLS.
The crash is under investigation.
UPDATE: The FAA released the following statement to TLS:
“A single-engine Cessna 172 crashed at Ocean County Airport in Bayville N.J., at approximately 6 p.m.local time today. Two people were on board. The aircraft had departed from Old Bridge Airport in Englishtown, N.J. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates.”
