Jackson Township police say they have arrested a suspect in the early Friday morning stabbing of a husband and wife on North Hope Chapel Road. 

According to police, at 1:34 AM, officers responded to a residence after receiving a report of a female who flagged down a passing car saying she had been assaulted at her home. Responding officers found and arrested a male suspect who was still in the front porch area of the victim’s residence, and recovered a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

A police investigation revealed that the suspect first left his own residence on Hope Chapel and, for unknown reasons, went to a neighboring residence where he kicked and punched the front door. The residents woke up but did not answer the door and the suspect left. He then went to a second residence where he kicked the door, forcing it open.

He entered the home, where he encountered a 71-year old female who had been woken up, at which point the suspect pulled out a knife and commanded the woman to sit on the floor, to which she obliged. She then began trying to get up as she spoke with the suspect, prompting the deranged individual to stab her in the upper chest/shoulder area. A 69-year old male then exited his bedroom and confronted the suspect, before being stabbed twice in the arm.

The female victim was able to get to a cell phone and then exited the residence through a window, where she ultimately made her way to the road and was able to flag down a vehicle.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was identified as Andre N. Hage, 32, of Jackson. He has been charged with burglary, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
