After being shut to the public for approximately 18 months due to Covid, Lakewood Township buildings are now open.
In June, TLS announced that the Lakewood Township buildings would begin reopening in phases.
In July, the Township began once again holding in-person meetings.
Mayor Ray Coles today told TLS that all Lakewood Township buildings are now open to the public.
Town Hall hours of operations are: 9:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday – Friday. Residents wishing to conduct township business are welcome to enter through the lobby doors nearest the parking lot where they will be greeted and assisted by township staff.
In addition, please find the following hours of operations for various departments:
Inspections’ office: 8:00AM – 4:15PM, Monday – Friday
Engineers’ office: 8:00AM – 4:00PM, Monday – Friday
Public Works’ office: 8:00AM – 3:30PM, Monday – Friday
Residents are encouraged to schedule an appointment to help monitor the number of people that are entering throughout the business day.
For those that are not able to visit Township facilities, much of the Township services have been made available contactless, online or over-the-phone. Township staff can be reached by telephone, 732-364-2500, or by visiting https://www.lakewoodnj.gov/contact.
Those who are vaccinated will not be required to wear masks. All non-vaccinated visitors will still be required to wear masks.
I hope the matzav keeps on improving but in case it goes in the wrong direction they should shut immediately.
Just for everyone’s information, Covid is spreading now more than ever, and more people have unfortunately passed away since Biden has taken office!!!
But I guess if the president is a Democrat and the governor is a Democrat and he is running for reelection, EVERYTHING IS OK!!!
The police department has been open this entire time. They should be compensated…!
So this means that the township manager,Mayor and all the secretaries are coming back too to the building after 18 months? Or they still going to be working from home?
To Propolice:The police has done a wonderful job but they’re not the only government employees in Lakewood that have worked through the pandemic without staying home. How about DPW,Fire department and EMS?
Is the township committee meeting going to be in person again as well?
o boy this is so scary! bunch of fools, if Lowes, Walmart, every other store, business, amusement park etc have been open all this time, what took these foolish people so long to open?
@stevenn
Go back under your bed.
@ Perplexed:it’s called know how to beat the system. Do you actually believe that they’re really working normal 9 to 5 hours? Who’s going to track them? Cause none of them are wearing a GPS Monday to Friday during those hours. My sister used to work from home for a few months during the peak of the pandemic and sometimes when I called her and she was supposed to be working guess what? She was at Walmart or doing other things while getting paid and that’s exactly what’s happening here.
Ditto Ditto Ditto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its amazing how we let our elected public servants get away with this nonsense, you dont want to come into work, because the world is so scary as you peak out from under your bed, that fine, your fired we will replace you tomorrow with realistic down to earth normal people, not sure why they get away with this
