HORRIFIC: 4 killed in GSP accident identified as Lakewood residents; Victims were 2 brothers, a Lakewood DPW employee and a Marine [UPDATED]

The four killed in Wednesday morning’s accident on the Garden State Parkway, were Lakewood residents.

The New Jersey State Police are investigating the two-car crash that killed brothers Kevin Quispe-Prieto, 21, of Beachwood, N.J., and Jimmy Quispe-Prieto, 23, Victor Lugo, 24, and Robert Ordenana, 23, all of Lakewood, earlier this morning in Dover Township, Ocean County.

At 2:50 a.m., troopers responded to the report of a crash involving a sedan and a tanker truck southbound on the Garden State Parkway at milepost 81.5.

Based on the preliminary investigation, Kevin Quispe-Prieto was driving an Infiniti G37 sedan in the right lane when he struck the rear of the truck. As a result of the collision, all four occupants sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries.

Robert is a U.S. Marine who had just returned from a tour overseas.

Victor, a family member of a Lakewood Police Officer, was an  employee of the Lakewood Department of Public Works, and was hoping to become a police officer. He had already gone through the Civil Service exam and was on the list, police say.

His mother, Evelyn, works for the Lakewood Township.

”I would like to express my sympathies to the families of the young men who were killed in the Parkway crash last night,” Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles told TLS. “Words cannot express the depth of this tragedy or bring comfort to their families and friends.”

The Mayor added, “I was touched by a text my daughter sent this morning. After relaying the story about the accident, she said she just wanted my wife and I to know she loves us because you never know what can happen. I think it is important for us to remember to never skip an opportunity to let someone know that you care about them and to treasure every second we have with our loved ones.”
