Two Lakewood Middle School students were arrested today for bringing knives to school, sources told TLS.
The students, approximately 13 years old, were reported to the school principal, who in turn phoned police about the findings, sources said.
The students, both males, were arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
Both the Lakewood Middle School and High School have metal detectors, and it’s unclear how the knives got through.
The incident comes just days after four students were arrested in connection with the series of armed robberies in Lakewood and Toms River.
The incident is under investigation.

we should be so proud! Lets keep pouring more and more tax payer money into these schools!
To hi. Keep crying. Next time go out and vote.
And this is the schools fault because?? It is a shame that these things are occurring but to blame the school is ridiculous. They are not in the children’s homes nor are they their parents.
I do vote and I’m not blaming schools. But if parents do nothing or worse than nothing, there is only so much a school can help. More and more resources into the school will not help. Education begins at home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one is saying its the schools fault. But the quality of many of the students is lacking. And pumping millions of tax-payer dollars into their buildings will NOT help.
I’m sure they’re both “good kids” involved in “good sports” who just made a bad decision to bring weapons to their school.
Coulda happened to anyone…..
(Dripping sarcasm for all those who will reply)
My sibling says they knew them and that the knives were craft knives…….
What kind of security do we have in these schools not even us teachers are safe. The board is wasting all this money on Metal detectors and security guards for what this kids are still bring weapons to school.
What the heck does a knife incident have to do with a leaking roof and a broken HVAC system. come on people.
To #9… absolutely nothing! …..
