A Toms River Police officer motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital this afternoon following an accident in Lakewood.

The accident happened at the intersection of New Hampshire Ave. and Route 70.

It does not appear there are any other vehicles involved in the accident. Toms River EMS transported the officer to the landing zone.

The Lakewood Police Department tells TLS injuries do not appear life-threatening.

Lakewood‘s traffic safety division, as well as the Ocean County Prosecutor‘s office are investigating the incident.

Expect detours for several hours.
