BREAKING: Suspect Who Prompted FBI Warning Arrested; Suspect “Expressed Radical Extremist Views and Ideology”

An FBI source confirms the suspect who prompted the warning in New Jersey, is in custody.

The suspect was arrested Thursday night.

According to the FBI, during midday yesterday, they received a lead which detailed an unidentified New Jersey based individual who intended to attack an unspecified New Jersey Synagogue.

Given the nature, timing and specific reporting, FBI Newark said they felt it necessary to act immediately.

Recognizing that evening services across the state were approaching, as were school dismissals, they sent out a tweet on their twitter account “out of an abundance of caution” because they wanted to reach “the widest audience in the quickest way possible.”

According to the source, there was no “intent to cause panic or alarm.”

The FBI identified the subject and approached him Thursday evening.

For the next few hours, he expressed radical extremist views and ideology as well as an extreme amount of hate toward the Jewish community.

According to the FBI, they “have a high level of confidence that this subject of interest in in fact the individual who posed this threat and no longer poses a threat.”

Additionally, it does not appear there are others who pose a threat to synagogues affiliated with this subject but the investigation is ongoing.

On a conference call with state-based faith leaders this morning, New Jersey Governor Murphy affirmed that, as always, his administration will do all they can to protect the Jewish community.

“We all know that this is a tense time, across our state, and indeed across our country and sadly across the world, Jewish communities are facing a wave of anti-Semitic words and activity,” he said.

“If there is one thing we can not be at this time, it is silent,” he added.

“We will not be indifferent. We will ensure that all Jewish New Jerseyans can live study and worship without fear for their safety,” Murphy said.

  1. B”h! Thank you Hashem for keeping us safe every moment of every day, and thank you to all the hardworking individuals who sacrifice everyday, doing their job with the utmost dignity.

  2. To those claiming this is “political”- may I remind you that exactly four years and eight days ago, 18 people were shot at L’Simcha Congregation during shacharis. Your insinuation is deeply disrespectful to law enforcement and to those who take these things seriously. We should thank Hashem that this individual was apprehended in time.

    • Don’t you think if they made an actual arrest they would report the name if not video of the arrest. IMHO They probably did arrest somebody but It was probably not all but they they made it be ( Say a twelve-year-old online saying nasty things) so they left out the name an information of the person……

  3. Why have we not seen or hear his name anywhere?

Why hasn’t the mainstream media been all over this? They love this kind of stuff

Why hasn’t the FBI leaked it to the mainstream media?

There is something VERY fishy about this story

  4. Like a little blue birdie in Merrick’s Creek baiting a Wrayfish?

That creek is extremely polluted but the EPA has so many other whistles not to blow.

They’re sure that the Wrayfish has fins and scales, though. The Wrayfish is also chameleon like in that it acquires the precise coloration of it’s environment. Its practically undetectable. You can put it on an American flag and you won’t see it! Like a false flag.

  5. Actually I wouldn’t be surprised if the shooter was not a MAGA supporter, KKK or white supremacist, which is why they are not blasting this all over the place.

Unfortunately in the MM, the only kind of anti-Semitism that is ok to denounce is the hate from the wxtreme – right side of the Isle.

The truth is that there are left, right, center, and apolitical anti-Semites. We have had the Poway shooter and the Jersey City shooter from opposite extremes of the spectrum, and plenty of violence from the all sorts of groups.

Don’t think this was a political ploy. I think New Jersey specifically really messed up in the past (Jersey City) and is trying to overcompensate.

Just a reminder that we are in Golus – and maybe a good idea to tone down on some of the ostentatiousness that goes on in the wealthy parts of our community (see the Noda B’yehuda about ostentatiousness of the wealthy in Prague fueling anti-semitism in his time)
