BREAKING: Suspect In Overturn Accident in Lakewood Wanted for Out-of-State Bank Robbery [MULTIPLE VIDEOS]

The driver suspected of causing the overturn accident in Lakewood this afternoon was wanted in connection with a bank robbery out of state, TLS has learned.

Yesterday, police put out a wanted notice for the man following a bank robbery in Maine.

“November 26, 2025 at approximately 1:39 PM, the Scarborough Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a robbery at Chase Bank, 1 Hannaford Drive. Upon arrival, investigators learned that the suspect had fled in a maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer with out-of-state license plates.”

“The suspect is described as a white male with blond hair and “stubble” facial hair in his late 20s wearing a grey sweater, black sunglasses, jeans and tennis shoes. No weapon was displayed and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of currency.”

Shortly after the robbery, witnesses reported a similar-style vehicle was involved in a hit and run motor vehicle crash on Gorham Road in the area of Mussey Road. The suspect vehicle reportedly fled the scene of the crash continuing northbound on Gorham Road.

The erratic driver can be seen on video attempting to drive around another vehicle making a left turn onto Clifton Avenue this afternoon, overturning his vehicle, and causing the other vehicle to crash into the building.

He fled his vehicle, but was chased down by Lakewood Police officers and was taken into custody – CAUGHT ON VIDEO.

UPDATE: Scarborough, Maine Police state that they have arrested Thomas Sawyer, 27 years old, from Warren Maine, the suspect in yesterday’s robbery of the Chase Bank in Scarborough – who also caused the overturn accident in Lakewood today.

The suspect was also charged with DUI and is being hospitalized in custody.

Our Police officers aren’t sitting around eating cake and drinking coffee in the Police headquarters. They are on duty and in their cars patrolling our neighborhoods.

He was sobbing and saying he was sorry over and over right after the accident, but obviously highly intoxicated.

BH everyone is ok.
Please be aware that legally, when making a left turn, you are required to turn into the LEFT lane. If you need to be in the right lane, you can switch from the left lane to the right after signaling and checking blind spots.
Although the maroon car is clearly at fault here, if the Sienna would’ve been in the left lane, this accident may have been avoided.
I have never posted on TLS (or any such online platform) but people need to know the law so they can drive safely.
It’s sad that this is the image under the sign “Welcome to our Town”.
Let’s make our town a safe place to drive and live.

when its 1 turning lane you can turn into either lane, the right or left. so the siennni is innocent and the other car is wrong.
