Any idea why Jackson would want to fight the Department of Justice?

we are allowed to make shuls anywhere and however we want!! the howell and jackson police that give problems to the shuls that are in garages, should be fired!!! enough with the nonsense of people saying its illegal to make a shul in your house because your house could only hold 15 people not 30…. its all bluff!!! your allowed to do what ever you want in your house!! the (moderated) have 40 people in one tiny house. who are the police chiefs of howell and jackson! do they also have corrupt justice!!!
Sorry Mr. Hocker but you can’t do things however and wherever you want. You live in this country you have to respect the laws, as long as they treat all people fairly. If the law is unfair it can be challenged in an acceptable way. If you don’t like it maybe move somewhere without laws, lets see how that works out for you
Mr Heavy Lakewood Hocker, myself and the rest of the frum community in Jackson kindly ask that you stay in Lakewood. Those of us that have moved out do respect the neighborhoods and our neighbors. We do realize there are laws in place for everyone’s benefit. No, you cannot do what you want wherever you want. Yes, we will respectfully talk to the township officials about our needs, and work hard to have a place to pray but in a pleasant, respectful way that works for everyone.
We are enjoying life out here a lot and prefer that rabble rousers like you stick to your area politics.
(Moderated) and (Moderated) guess what, all the people who moved out of Lakewood to Jackson for lower property taxes are in it for a big surprise because some (Moderated) from Jackson have a (Moderated) and would cut their nose to spite their faces!! Does it imply that Jackson hired an attorney to figure out how to prohibit Jews to build synagogues, or do they intend something different?
Why is it wrong to NOT want jackson to turn into another lakewood? There are zoning rules for a reason.. it’s called quality if life. When you bring there here, then here becomes there.. isnt everyone moving to jackson to get away from the over crowded and rampant congestion? Keep it up and soon jackson will be an extension of the same problems you are already having in lakewood.
It’s sad that politics gets in the way of everything. If that’s the case whatever happened to freedom of religion? Shame on them!
Zoning laws may not be used to control the spread of religion, which is the exact purpose of Ruilpa.
Jackson will lose, like every other municipality has. There’s yet to be a loss at the DOJ on any case they brought.
The “problem” in lakewood isn’t the shuls. It’s the high density housing, basement apartments, over generous use of variances, and poorly planned public roads. This can all still be avoided with zoning laws.

Do you think I should not be allowed an opportunity to pray at a synagogue on sabbath?

Stop the crazy over congestion here in lakewood nobody benefits off building 5 duplexes on a half acre if people would b forced to build only one house on a half acre then prices would be forced to come down and we the people will only gain as we will have less congestion and more property and we will have less anti semitism.
I agree with you up until the last line. Antisemitism will unfortunately still exist. Antisemitism has nothing to do with the above.
@ now in Jackson. Kathy has a valid point and is respectfully asking to understand more about the issue discussed. It is not clear from the article if this is talking about synagogues or housing. She is in no way attacking, or representing an idea we can’t all comprehend. You probably did not mean to come out sounding so strong, but the tone of your comment is strong and somewhat demanding. Let’s all keep the conversation respectful as best as we can!
Simply put a combination lock on the gate and that would resolve all issues without fighting
So interesting to see that if I write my name as ‘hocker’ I get screamed at that I’m a rabble-rouser and I should stay in Lakewood but if I’d sign off as ‘Tim’ I would get respectful responses. Now I know why we’re still in golus….

It looks like you confused the comments and authors a bit: it was me who asked to clarify the issue, Kathy only said its good not to turn jackson into Lakewood.
To bring it to your attention, the article says Jackson is “hiring a rluipa attorney to limit Jewish community development”, and we all know what that means. Rluipa isn’t about roads or overcrowding…
