An investigation is underway after a shooting victim was dropped off at Lakewood’s hospital moments ago, sources tell TLS.
The shooting victim was dropped off by a private vehicle at the emergency room of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus at around 4:45 PM, but police had limited information on the incident.
A source who was at the hospital as the victim was being rolled in, told TLS he heard the victim screaming, “I was shot, I was shot in the leg.”
The shooting victim appeared to be in his twenties, the source told TLS.
UPDATE: Police have established a crime scene at an apartment complex on Cedarbridge Avenue near Clover Street.
Police confirmed the man was shot in the leg. The victim is in stable condition.
Lakewood Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department – with the assistance of a K9 – are investigating.

@frightening, even scarier is your spelling.
People. Wise up. Purchase the means to defend your homes and families and get very well trained to use them. Everything is up to Hashem, but that doesn’t relieve us of the obligation to act responsibly. In today’s world, with the shocking increase in violence, even in a “small” town like Lakewood, it has become necessary to meet the threat with the appropriate countermeasures.
Stay safe, trust in Hashem and keep your powder dry.
@frightening please contact police with what your wife saw, it could save a life and get one more undesirable off the streets.
To Lakewooder:just so you are less frightened,I am reposting the misspelled words. Then, on,
Wielding, man, persuing.
To Anonymous:She actually made the initial call to police.
@Truthlaser: If you plan on using a firearm to defend yourself, make sure you PRACTICE using it after getting instruction. Don’t think about a handgun if you are a novice, you’ll miss! Shotguns are more effective and easier to shoot. Be advised, if you do shoot an intruder, you are in for the biggest inquisition you could imagine from local and state law enforcement. Then there is the civil lawsuit to follow. The good news is most intruders will leave once they see and hear that shotgun.
If you shoot an intruder make sure he’s inside your house facing you and not running away.
Please help the little boy that goes to oak street school. Also any other kids afraid to speak.
