UPDATED: Lakewood High School, Middle School on lockdown for investigation [PHOTOS]

searching-for-drugsThe Lakewood High School and Middle School are on lockdown for a drug investigation in the area, sources say.

State Police reportedly were in pursuit of a suspect who led them through Lakewood, and was seen disposing bags out of his car window in the area of the schools, prompting the lockdowns.

Police eventually caught up with the suspect, and placed him under arrest.

Following the arrest, police – assisted by K9 units – traced back the trail, and located multiple bags – apparently containing drugs.

UPDATE: 2:50 PM. Police say the lockdowns have been lifted and students are being dismissed.
