A fire broke out at a church in Lakewood moments ago.
The St. Anthony church is located on Route 88 across the Ocean County Park.
There are no reports of injuries.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
Route 88 is shut to all traffic between Linden and New Hampshire Avenues.

I may be wrong but it seems to me that when I drove by last night there was a big gathering at this church (or possibly nearby). Lots of cars parked in the area. Not that there has to be a connection. Just saying.
