A person was shot in Lakewood moments ago, officials confirm to TLS.
The person was reportedly inside a vehicle around 12:30 AM in the High Point area when he was shot.
The victim, an approximately 30-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to his torso area, police told TLS.
Sources tell TLS the shooting may have been part of a robbery.
The victim was driven by private vehicle down the block to MMCSC.
“They came in yelling,” a source who was at the hospital at the time told TLS. “It was wild.”
Police say the vehicle the victim was transported with was secured by authorities, and an investigation is underway.
Police say they do not know yet whether the gunshot wound is life-threatening.
The victim is reportedly being transported to JSUMC for further treatment.
