  1. May the family be comforted . So sad. I feel terrible. Lakewood truly scares me. Driving in Lakewood is so dangerous. People speed, people don’t wear reflectors, and people cross in the middle of the street. (moderated)

  2. Whenever I’m driving I have to skirt stop becuase ppl are always running in middle of the street not having a care in the world that cars are speeding it’s really dangerous and scary Ppl have got to take better care of themselves

  3. Awesome Job to LPD for catching the perp who fled the scene.

CAN’T BELIEVE A PERSON CAN LEAVE A SCENE WITH A VICTIM LYING ON THE GROUND IN CRITICAL CONDITION.
“”” SHOULD BE LOCKED UP “””

  4. I am no investigator so i do not know the details put people cross like complete and utter morons at that spesific intersection At least once a week i personally need to slow down (way below the limit) and honk at a pedestrian (while i have the right of way) thag thinks the world revolves wround him at that stretch of cedarbridge

  5. I live in that neighborhood and people are constantly crossing the street in middle of the road without reflectors. There is a traffic light right there but people disregard it! Condolences to the family of the deceased! May he RIP. So sad.

  6. Many people crossing there are headed back and forth to/from the liquor store. So yes, there is a tendency of irresponsible pedestrian crossing at that intersection. (I do not know the particulars of this specific accident.)

  7. TICKET THE DRIVER- NO EXCUSE HIT AND RUN- BUT ALSO TIME TO TICKET THE JAY WALKERS..
ALSO ANOTHER LIGHT OR A WALKING BRIDGE NEEDS TO BE PLACED – THE LIGHTS ARE MLK AND THEN CLOVER.
TO LONG OF A WALK OR PEOPLE ARE IN A RUSH.

THIS AREA IS ALSO NOT WELL LIGHTED AND WITH THE EARLY NIGHT FALLS PEOPLE ARE MAD DASHING NAD PLAYING NOT ONLY WITH THEIR LIVES BUT THE LIVES OF THE DRIVERS..

THE DRIVER SHOULD HAVE STOPPED – NO EXCUSE- BUT WITH THE HISTORY OF THE AMOUNT OF PEDESTRIANS KILLED IN THIS AREA, INFASTRUCTURE MUST BE IMPROVED BY MORE LIGHTING, PLACING GATES SO PEOPLE CANT CROSS OVER AND MAYBE MAKING A WALKING BRIDGE- LIKE I SAID.

  8. If you read the article Misaskim wasn’t summoned, if it’s their job to save a life, & their there 1st it is their duty no matter whom is lying there in the street.

  9. Sally, you’re confusing Hatzolah with Misaskim. Misaskim is An orginiZation that among many other things assures the deceased is Handled properly in accordance to Jewish tradition.

  10. May he Rip such a great guy he was my thoughts and prayers to all his loved ones at this very sad time…..And to Sarah wannabee Chacham ticket and pinky. All those ignorant comments you all should keep to your low life selfs nobody knows how this happend or were the gentlemen was at the time of him getting hit or what the driver did besides try get away so glad they caught the driver because its ridiculous out here on these roads anymore

  11. Sally, Misaskim is not a first aid organization. They ensure that Jewish bodies are treated according to Jewish law, something that is not applicable at all to non-Jews.

  12. Not taking sides, but maybe both parties were at fault. The deceased may not have been careful enough crossing the street and the driver may not have seen him, but, should never have left the scene of the accident. That is illegal.

    • It’s also important to report about a person how was hit right away, as they may be able to save them. But regarding actually hitting the person, it’s probably not the driver’s fault, as people are mentioning (darker road, no reflector, not at corner etc.). (although I know of no details other than what is written here..)

  13. Let’s get this straight ! FIRST OF ALL ITS NOT JUST A LIQUOR STORE THERE!!!! There is a laundromat and a restaurant and a Convenient store in the area. Just because you see the liquor store sign does not mean the person struck and killed was going to the LIQUOR STORE…… and besides what does it matter? A person was struck and killed on Christmas Day and the driver took off!!! You all need to stop being so judgmental and how about praying for the family who has just lost a loved one.
And for all the ones leaving the stupid comments about him going to the liquor store are just stupid. If you live in lakewood than you will know there is more than one store there. Just so happens the person taking pictures too the picture of the liquor store sign.
Where is the compassion for the family.
MAY HE R.I.P and to the family my prayers are with you at this time.

  14. I would like to send my deepest condolences and prayers to the family. Such a tragic loss he was a wonderful individual i knew him for years may he RIP and for the ignorant people leaving them uncalled judgemental comments I’m going to be praying for some common sense and compassion for you guys.

  15. I know personally one of the drivers involved in this unfortunate tragedy. It’s very sad that the pedestrian lost his life, but that doesn’t justify how he’s seriously transformed the lives of the drivers.
