Lakewood needs more traffic lights and an end number of accidents and deaths and the (moderated) should be blamed for allowing more people to move into this township. There is no more room for improvement and traffic need be improved immediately and if you can’t do your job please feel free to resign and take on the guilt for not widening the Route 9 and Route 88. (moderated, moderated, moderated)

I dont know how new you are to this area. The only one to really be guilty of not widening rt 9, 88 is the county and state. Back in 1999 or 2000 the state widened rt 9 from Old Bridge through Howell. It stopped at Lakewood. There was even talk of placing an elevated train down rt 9 to connect to ny bound trains for people commuting to NYC.
Why is it that Lakewood isn’t designated a city such as bigger ciry that have fully funded public transportation. Ask the state and county..

In regards to sufficient lighting the Lakewood township has been fighting for years with JCPL, county and state to provide lighting.

How did a tragic drunk driving accident trigger this (ostensibly, prior to moderation) ignorant, hateful rant?

We all know the truth that learning Torah will make you a real Mentsch. I can understand that when Seder is over and we are all trying to leave the area at the same time, I am sure everyone is super nice to everyone and we are all doing defensive driving as we leave the Bais Medrash area and we head home.
The real problem is that there are streets in Lakewood that all kinds of people are using those streets and some of the drivers are people that did not learn Torah and therefore it is possible that the driver will not slow down for you , he will not yield for you. We can’t assume that every driver out there is a mentsch and he will let you come into his lane in front of his vehicle.
I am willing to bet that people from Jackson are using Cross St. in order to drive to that area of the borderline of Toms River and Bricktown.

I do not know the details of this specific accident. I am giving general advice.

Oh my. I am Catholic. I read the Bible and I pray throughout the day. And I am a very good, careful and safe driver. I don’t ignore stop signs,I don’t drive on the shoulder of the road and then cut into traffic. I hope your comment was written with a sarcastic pen!

Spoken like a real sonay Torah. You should see a shrink about your issues. You sound jealous.

I hope you find menucha over day.

I don’t have a clue what you mean to say.
I think you read the comment super quick and you missed a few words.
Hashem should help you.

I am dismayed that a bigot is commenting on an accident where someone lost their life. Just because an individual reads Torah or not, it does not mean they make good choices.

I was not referring to this accident.
It was general advice for drivers.

This sounds prejudice and it’s a load of you know what. I’m 3rd generation Jackson resident here and worked at a business on Cross Street for many years. Cross street and people like me have been here a lot longer than you and yours. Mic drop

That dirt wall should have a guardrail, that’s unsafe and was due to the fact of the pointless year long road construction they did there

I’m sorry but too many people are breaking the law and pretending it doesn’t exist! It is against the law to use and hold on to a cell phone, no matter what type, while you are driving! This problem is rampant in the community! I believe that is the reason for most of the many accidents in the community. PEOPLE: put that phone down while you are driving! If it’s an emergency, you can pull over but I am seeing too many people holding phones to their ear while they are driving! You are putting the lives of everyone at risk! You have no right to do that.

Praying for the families that have lost their loved ones. Such a senseless accident. If you have been drinking please don’t get behind the wheel.
The comment made about not reading the Torah is laughable. That clearly does not make you a good human being. It just gives you something to hide behind and claim that you are. Have you been keeping up on the local news?
There has been many heinous acts committed by those that read Torah faithfully, not to mention careless driving, kids bouncing all over the car, not properly restrained all while on the cell phone. Did I mention running red lights? Your comment
was unnecessary and offensive.
Praying for the families during their time of loss is all that’s needed.

I agree.
My main point was that drivers should not attempt to enter the road (without traffic light) from a side street and assume that everyone is going slow down to let him enter. He needs to make sure that he has enough time to enter the road without causing the traffic to slow down for him.

Seems like drunk driving was involved, so not sure what lights or no lights had to with this.
