Mayor Menashe Miller, Senator Robert Singer and Police Rob Chief Rob Lawson‎ have notified TLS moments ago that Conrail’s scheduled Route 9 repairs project has been postponed, as first reported on our News Alerts (@LakewoodScoop).

The project, which would have shut down part of the state highway for two days, would have bottle-necked the town, and caused severe complications for schools, business and emergency personnel.

The officials, including Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, spent many hours with the DOT and other State officials‎ to ensure the project was performed on either a weekend or Holiday.

As of now, the project has been postponed ‎until Spring, and on days with less traffic throughout the town, the officials said.
