New Jersey’s State Assembly passed a bill (A4743/S3229) 42-30 which will allow immigrants without legal status, as well as individuals who have served time in prison, obtain driver’s licenses. The passage of the bill in the Assembly was followed by a vote in the Senate, where it passed by a 21-17 vote. Governor Murphy has said that he will sign the bill into law.
The legislation creates a two-license system, which would include a regular New Jersey driver’s license and a license that complies with federal REAL ID license standards. Because illegal immigrants are unable to get REAL ID’s, they would now be able to get the standard license from New Jersey.
Some 719,000 people in New Jersey will potentially benefit from the law, which 14 other US states have already passed some version of. Supporters of the bill say the benefits will bring in more than $90 million in increased revenue for New Jersey.
State Republicans are staunchly opposed to the bill, and slammed Governor Murphy for his support of it. “In his effort to turn New Jersey into a sanctuary state, the governor has spent more than $2 million of taxpayer money to cover the legal costs of illegal aliens facing deportation,” said Republicans in a petition opposing the bill, which has garnered over 20,000 signatures.

Next step they will be given the right to vote.
After that there will be a lawsuit filed for discrimination for not allowing illegals to get the REAL ID driver license. Without the REAL ID license they are being shamed and made to feel less than the REAL ID license holders.
And watch your insurance rates go up again.

Wait. What ??!! I can they legally be allowed to drive when their whole existence here is illegal. I’m not following the logic. Are they doing some type of background check on these guys ? Are they required to have insurance ?
