BREAKING: NJ, NY, CT Governors Announce New Coronavirus Restrictions

In a joint phone conference this morning, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced new restrictions aimed at mitigating the continued spread of Covid-19.

The governors said that they have agreed upon a set of rules for each of their states, including no gatherings of over 50 people, and an order that all bars, nightclubs, casinos, gyms and restaurants must close by 8 PM. Restaurants will only be allowed to be open for takeout and delivery until further notice.

Additionally, Governor Murphy requested that all non-essential travel should be limited across the tri-state from 8 PM to 5 AM due to the coronavirus. This is not a mandatory curfew, but rather a proactive way for residents to help stop the spread of the virus.

  1. Travel?? What does travel have anything to do with the virus? Driving a vehicle at 10 pm doesn’t spread the virus any more than it spreads it at 6pm.can anyone explain this?

  2. The situation is getting out of hand. Disrupting our entire system can be incredibly detrimental in the long run, long after this pandemic will pass.

  3. What does traveling and driving have to do with spreading the virus and how does travel after 8pm spread the virus more than driving before 8pm?
